Despite criticism of its always-on DRM feature, Diablo III garnered positive reviews. Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer were combined into Diablo III: Eternal Collection, which was published in June 2017 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and in November 2018 for the Nintendo Switch. In June 2017, the latest-generation console versions of the game as well as the Windows, macOS, and Rise of the Necromancer bundle were made available. It was then made available for consoles in August 2014 as part of the Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition release.
Reaper of Souls, an expansion pack for the game, was first made available for PC in March 2014. Players are charged with taking down Diablo, the Lord of Terror, in the game by selecting one of seven character classes: Barbarian, Crusader, Demon Hunter, Monk, Necromancer, Witch Doctor, or Wizard.
